HELP IMPROVE THEIR BRAIN COGNITION
The Old Age Homes and Care Facilities Quandry
There are so many senior citizens in Old Age Homes and Care Facilities who can benefit from the latest research and scientific knowledge to improve their brain cognition, but who do not have the financial means to pay for these services.
Brain Fit developed a programme that can be presented by Old Age Home staff and meaningful persons and used to optimize the care facility systems.

Our Memory Recall programme for people who suffer from memory loss,
is included and a free Brain Cognition Assessment for all facility inhabitants.
Memory Recall is to help re-activate the memory centers of a brain that has lost its short-term memory. It recalls those memories that can still be re-activated by stimulating all the senses of a person with memories attached to strong emotions the person had when younger.
It requires someone who has intimate knowledge of the person’s memory bank and who are willing to dig up triggers that act as cues for those memories, and who can facilitate the programme.
The objective is to activate the memory with a trigger that will recall the memory and some emotions attached to it. An example would be to play a piece of music that the person enjoyed very much in the past. As soon as the person remembers the music the facilitator would ask the person to tell a story he/she can remember when the music was played in the past. This can trigger an emotion that will reinforce remembering the memory.
The programme consists of the following 6 steps delivered in cycles of 7 weeks each:
STEP 1: ISOMETRIC EXERCISES
STEP 2: RECALL AROMA MEMORIES AND EMOTIONS ATTACHED TO IT.
STEP 3: RECALL TASTE MEMORIES AND EMOTIONS ATTACHED TO IT.
STEP 4: RECALL HEARING (AUDITORY) MEMORIES AND EMOTIONS ATTACHED TO IT.
STEP 5: RECALL VISUAL MEMORIES AND EMOTIONS ATTACHED TO IT.
STEP 6: RECALL TOUCH MEMORIES AND EMOTIONS ATTACHED TO IT.
The packaged programme is supported with 7 videos on the various topics.
Cost: R5 700 for the programme only.
If training is required, then an additional R5 700, plus travel and accommodation, is added. Training is done by visiting the facility for one day.
